Screen Printing is the process of pushing ink with a squeegee through stencil made from a mesh screen. There is one screen for each color being printed and sometimes extra screens for when an under base is needed to keep colors bright and opaque on dark garments.
At MERCH PROS the go to ink is plastisol for most jobs. Our inks come in dozens of stock colors or we can custom mix a color using the Pantone color matching system. There are special effect inks like metallic, high density, puff, neons, foil and even glow in the dark. We also use water based inks when our customers require a soft hand feel or a broken in, distressed look.
After your image gets color separated by our art department each color gets printed out as a film positive to be burned with uv light on to individual screens that will be lined up and registered on one of our screen printing presses.
Besides printing basic spot color logos, MERCH PROS has the capabilities of screen printing photo realistic full color CMYK or simulated process prints that look their best on black t-shirts, like those concert tees everyone loves!
It’s not just custom t-shirts that can be screen printed. Sweatshirts, tank tops, moisture wicking sports apparel, shorts, pants, hats and even beer koozies can be custom screen printed by our expert team.
